GAIN CLARITY IN LIFE

When you are clear about what makes you healthy, happy, loving and successful, you will be healthy, happy, loving and successful. You live with clarity, decide what you want and then pursue your dream life with passion and energy.

But what if you feel uncertain and don’t have a lot of clarity about what you want and what your direction for the future will be? What if you can’t decide where you want to go and what to do next? Uncertainty is a common problem, especially living in a world of unprecedented changes.

Fortunately there are many actions that can help you live a life with less confusion and doubt. You can make mental adjustments that shift you from uncertainty to certainty and help you to gain clarity, which makes life a lot easier.

Here are our TOP 10 tips to gain more clarity in life.

#1 Take Responsibility for Your Level of Clarity
A lot of people believe that clarity is something that will simply show up if you patiently wait. However, clarity isn’t something that arrives and it isn’t a matter of luck. It’s a decision and something that you create for yourself. Whatever level of clarity you experience right now is what you have decided to create. So realize and accept that you are responsible for your level of clarity and if you realize and accept that you need to improve upon your level of clarity, actively make some changes.

#2 Stop Creating Confusion
While some thoughts and actions lead to increased clarity, others have the opposite effect and create confusion. To gain more clarity, stop creating confusion, which means you have to stop surrounding yourself with unfocused people who are drifting aimlessly and instead surround yourself with focused people who have a clear purpose and direction. Stop wasting your time with excessive web surfing, TV and video games and instead feed your mind with motivational and inspirational material. Stop numbing your mind with junk food, alcohol or other addictions and start to eat healthy, wholesome, nutritious foods that keep your mind alert and sharp. Stop overstimulating yourself with caffeine and other stimulants that only cause mood swings and cloudy thoughts and stop whining about your lack of clarity and think about your goals and what actions you can take today.

#3 Eliminate Excuses
If you would win the lottery today, what would you do with the rest of your life? If you can keep this spirit in mind, lack of time or resources is just an excuse. Think about it, what would your life look like if you could choose anything you like? Increase your level of awareness of what drives you and once you figure it out, act upon it. Eliminate excuses and stop waiting for the perfect moment, because we all know that the perfect time to start something is always right now.

#4 Ask for Help
There is plenty of help available when you need it, so take advantage of it and use it. Ask someone who is crystal clear about their path in life to help you. Sure, you want to be aware of the source you are tapping into and want that mentor to be experienced, enthusiastic and unbiased, but finding someone who can help you find more clarity is invaluable. Just be aware that at the end of the day you are still 100% responsible for your level of clarity. Use mentors, counselors, friends and coaches as a resource, but don’t give away your power.

#5 Stick with One Main Goal at a Time
If you have many goals, it is very easy to jump around between the different goals and make little to no progress in any of them. If you actually want to be successful in achieving your goal, you have to focus on one single goal until you have reached it. Then you can move on to another goal. Set your priorities straight and find out what you want to achieve first and make that your primary aim. Center your life around it so you can create momentum and make it a reality. And if the goal is huge, divide it into subgoals and keep moving forward.

#6 Explore and Experiment
Sometimes it’s hard to set clear goals because you aren’t quite sure what you are getting yourself into. This is where you have to experiment and explore to get more clarity. Doing what you are already doing won’t give you more clarity. You have to get out of your comfort zone and explore what the world has to offer. And sometimes, simply starting to move will create the momentum that will give you clarity on what you enjoy, where your passions are and what direction you want to take in life.

#7 Observe Yourself
Gaining clarity is one of the most effective ways to stop your ruminating thoughts from eating you alive. Of course, meditation is an obvious choice to gain more clarity and observe yourself. But a lot of people find it hard and think meditation isn’t for them. Find other ways to observe yourself. You can turn chores into a moment of self-reflection, for example when you are doing the dishes. Or you can try guided visualizations that are easy to follow. Another great way to observe yourself is to practice pausing with a purpose. Stop what you are doing for a moment and observe how you feel in this very moment. Reconnect with yourself and with that gain more clarity about what you want out of life.

#8 Ask Yourself the Right Questions
In order to gain more clarity in life, you need to get real with yourself and be honest about what you want. Ask yourself what you are passionate about, why you feel stuck, which area of your life you want to change, why you feel like you can’t accomplish certain goals, what you want more of in life and what you want less of. Reflect on childhood memories and think about the moments of absolute bliss. If you honestly answer all these questions, you will gain a lot more clarity and can devise an action plan to reach your goals.

#9 Focus on the Process Rather than the Result
While it is important to have goals – a direction to work towards, it is even more important to focus on the day-to-day process that will lead you to your destination. The way you set out to reach your goal will make the difference between following through and losing your motivation along the way. Be effective and creative in making the process exciting and stimulating even if you have to deal with mundane, tedious tasks.

#10 Use Visualization to Create the Vibe of Clarity
You may have clarity right now or you may not, but to create a feeling of clarity, you can use your imagination. Clarity is more than just a feeling. It’s an emotional state, a certain vibe. When you gain clarity, you will experience that vibe with every fiber of your being, so sit quietly for a few moments every single day and visualize what it would be like to hold that vibe of total clarity. Imagine what your environment would look like, imagine what the circumstances and people would be like. Imagine how you would move, communicate and dress. Create a vivid picture of that reality of being crystal clear about your direction in life. The more you practice visualizing that reality, the more clarity it will bring to the rest of your life.

Don’t wait for clarity to just magically come to you. You are responsible for creating clarity from within and if you lack clarity right now, then get busy creating it for yourself. Leave your comfort zone behind you, go out into the world and explore what the world has to offer and then decide what being healthy, happy, loving and successful means to you.
